Evaluation of hardness and impact toughness of drawn arc stud weldments on different structural steel grades

Abstract The drawn arc stud welding (DASW) procedure is usually qualified by visual examinations and practical destructive tests of the joint according to international standards. An assessment material properties in specific weld zone regions not requested under consideration their limited areas or general dimension although press process implies a complex metallurgy. Nonetheless, there need knowledge regarding heterogeneous zone, especially when on base materials with specified strength toughness behavior that might be significantly diminished. In this study, local welded joints non-alloyed steel studs (Ø20 mm) plates different generic structural grades are investigated hardness test Charpy impact testing.
